Day 2 at the PUMA International Championships saw coloured belts from Warwick-TKD and Kineton-TKD performing. From the standard that was set by the black belts the day before our coloured belt students did not disappoint with excellent performances from all that competed in a high class competition with excellent standards as always:

- Harry Hoult - Gold patterns, Bronze sparring
- Andy Rutherford - Gold patterns
- Rosie Rutherford - Gold patterns, Gold sparring
- Jane Ellis - Bronze patterns, Silver sparring
- Ellis Roberts - Knocked out in patterns by the gold medal winner, 4th in sparring
An excellent day for Warwick-TKD black belt club and T-UK at the PUMA Championships in Swindon today. With 5 students competing we brought home 3 medals:
- Lynda Parnell Gold in Patterns
- Molly Rowe Bronze in Sparring
- Jack Rowe Bronze in sparring
James Allen and Alex Cameron narrowly missing out on a medal with some excellent performances; well done all a credit to the club. Bring on the coloured belt competition tomorrow.

Statistics show an alarming increase in violent crime and in particular knife crime!
- The number of rapes (29,265) & other sexual offences (58,954) ion the UK are at the highest level!
- Every 6 minutes there is a knife attack in the UK!
- Sexual assaults with knives went up 28% last year!
- Knife assaults increased by 13% to 13,488 offences in the UK!
- Last year in Warwickshire there were 532 violent crime instances!
In Hand Tools part 1 by GM Nardizzi, he described the blocking and attacking tools using parts of the hand which are learnt by colourbelt grade students. In this video he describes the other hand tools, many of which appear in advanced patterns.
A great weekend spent at the T-UK instructor and child protection course held in Stratford Upon Avon. An essential update of qualifications to keep the Warwick and Kineton TKD club at the top of their game.
Well done Warwick-TKD, Chief Instructor Martin Noddings, Assistant Instructors Brian Feely, Lynda Parnell and senior coloured belts John and Rachel Hoult; Kineton-TKD Chief Instructor Lynda Parnell and Assistant Instructor Tom Dixon in theirs and their clubs progression and improvement and even better standards of teaching.
Tuesdays class meet Fridays class (although a few missing faces due to sickness and holidays). A great start to the year with great enthusiasm and team spirit within the club. Well done all, looking forward to a year of excellence :)
