Well done to all our members who attended the England ITF Grandmaster seminar hosted by the T-UK in Stratford Upon Avon, great support and enthusiasm from the club as always.
The seminar was led by Grandmasters Ellis and Nardizzi. The seminar was broken down in to two halves coloured belts followed by a black belt only seminar. Each seminar consisted of a technical deep dive into all aspects of TKD.
This weekend our Instructors, blackbelts and senior coloured belts attended a seminar with Grand Master Boss 9th Degree and his son World Champion Timothy Boss.
An excellent seminar which covered technical improvement and delivery led by the Grand master and also sparring drills and strategy from Timothy.
A thoroughly enjoyable day of TKD. Warwick & Leamington TKD investing in our development and furthering our abilities to make the club the best it can be for our members.
Last weekend Warwick & Leamington TKD attended the T-UK Association Central Region coloured belt grading, the last one for 2021. WLTKD entered 31 students from the club having attained the right standards to qualify to be tested for promotion.
I am very pleased to announce that all our students passed and 9 of them with an A pass standard.
Well done all of you for your excellent preparation and performing at an exceptionally high standard:
Warwick TKD and Paragon Fitness joined forces and spent an excellent but extremely hot day at the Radford Semile school fete yesterday talking to pupils and parents at the school and demonstrating the menu of the services we have to offer. Looking forward to getting a few new members from the day.
With the coloured belt grading just around the corner and the Mark Scriven championships next month the Central Region Fight club saw a good turnout with students from Warwick, Stratford and North Leamington clubs including some of Warwick TKD new white belts keen to invest time to make improvements for these events and to generally improve their TKD in this fun high energy class.
Today saw Warwick members being tested for black belt promotion in Manchester at the T-UK National grading under Masters Archer and Ridley.
After a thorough 4 hour grading process where all participants were pushed hard to demonstrate their skills and abilities, I’m pleased to announce that all students were successful awarded their promotion.
Well done all of you for being ambassadors for the club and keeping the high standards that we expect from our students, you all worked extremely hard to prepare for today and deserved your promotions:
John Hoult promoted to 2nd Degree
Roger Crockford promoted to 2nd degree
Ellis Roberts promoted to 1st degree
We are please to announce that we are supporting our Military personal, Emergency Services personal and their families by offering a 20% discount to any one holding a Defence Discount Service card or a Blue Light card.
In their day to day working lives these people are putting themselves in potentially vulnerable violent environments. We believe that we can assist them in their working lives and make it more cost effective at the same time.
This week we have seen three more knife attacks with fatalities in all cases, Jodie Chesney aged 17 in an unprovoked attack in London and Yousef Makki aged 17 in Manchester. These victims aren’t your typical gang member but young people from good families and neighbourhoods.
Looking at the BBC crime statistics we can see that knife attack rates are the highest they have ever been since records began and where we are based in the West Midlands, we are the second worst area for knife crime in England and Wales with only London being higher!!
Warwick-TKD new years training will start on the 4th January at Warwick Space Coten End 6.30-7.30pm. Please note our Tuesday classes starting at 7pm will revert back to St Nichols Park Leisure Centre from the 8th January.
I look forward to seeing you all at training to begin your 2019 journey of achievement and the start of a new beginners class for all the new years resolution people.
17 coloured belt students from Warwick-TKD attended the T-UK Central region block grading in Stratford upon Avon at the weekend. After a tough promotion test testing their abilities to deliver techniques, patterns, set sparring, free sparring, self defence techniques and destruction for the higher grades I am pleased to announce that all 17 passed. Well done all of you, it shows that putting in hard work and preparing properly reaps rewards.
